Artist Zuchu has finally broken her silence just a few days after two head teachers were demoted following a clip of students in their schools dancing to the song Honey.
In the Songwe region, two primary school principals lost their titles and were made ordinary teachers following the clips that circulated of children dancing to the song.
Earlier reports claimed that the minister of education in Tanzania gave an order for the two to be demoted immediately due to accepting children play songs that he described as immoral in school.
After the news went viral on socal media, the artist Zuchu in the program Jana na Leo on Wasafi FM, said she was personally hurt by the order of the Ministry of Education to demote teachers.
”Binafsi nimeumia kwa sababu walimu hao walikuwa wanapata mshahara mzuri lakini baada ya kushushwa cheo pengine hata maslahi yao yatapungua,” She said in a telephone interview with journalist Baba Levo.
The artist also emphasized she does not see any problem with children having fun using her song.
”Mimi sioni shida kwa sababu katika wimbo wangu mashairi yako sawa na sioni tatizo kwa watoto kucheza wimbo wangu,” She added.
The children were playing the song just after a company sent help to the area and this happened after the completion of the official event and the entertainment session.
