Police on Monday launched a manhunt for two people who reportedly escaped with 94.9 million shillings that were being transported to a bank in Nairobi.
The money came from a security company in the Industrial Area and was supposed to be delivered to a bank in the city center.
The two in the company’s car had arrived at the room as scheduled but left without being escorted by the police.
Police said they discovered the vehicle containing the money was missing minutes after it was reported missing.
The car was found parked on the road while the suspects disappeared with the money.
Police officers visited the scene and found the two escaped in a waiting car.
The police said the incident was new and it seems to be a planned robbery.
Officers who were supposed to escort the vehicle involved in the robbery were questioned as part of the investigation into the incident.
