A man has died following a fatal accident on Saturday that involved Tanzanian artist, Chino Kidd and his music group.
Chino Kidd who prefers to sing Amapiano style and several colleagues were heading to Tanga region, Tanzania for a show when the black Alphard car they were riding collided with a petrol truck.
The accident is reported to have happened in the Kabuku area on Saturday afternoon where several victims are reported to have suffered serious injuries.
“Tulikuwa tunaelekea Tanga katika show ya mama yetu Ummy Mwalimu, ajali tumeipata maeneo ya Kabuku, tuliondoka na gari mbili, gari alilokuwa amepanda msanii likuwa limetangulia na msanii alikuwa amekaa upande wa kushoto wa dereva.” Chino Kidd’s manager, Sweder told Tanzania Web.
The manager said the victims managed to get immediate help after the accident and the injured were rushed to Tanga referral hospital. He said that everyone in the car was injured but no one died on the spot.
Unfortunately, the driver of the black Alphard that was carrying artist Chino Kidd, known as Nabeel, has been reported dead.
Tanzanian music producer Abbah Process confirmed the death of Nabeel on Sunday morning while mourning him.
“Rest in peace brother, tumepoteza mwanafamilia mmoja aliyekuwa kwenye ajali ya jana (Jumamosi). Mungu amkumbatie katika mikono yake yenye upendo na ampe amani ya milele. Milele mioyoni mwetu,” Abbah Process wrote on his Instagram account.
Other victims are reported to have broken legs following the accident while Chino Kidd is said to have suffered more chest injuries.
The video shared by producer Abbah shows people gathered around the black Alphard that was carrying Chino and his colleagues. The car appears to have been hit badly, especially on the right side. A petrol truck that was also involved in the accident was seen on the other side of the road with its head down.
Chino Kidd is one of the artists signed under the Bad Nation music label owned by Marioo.
