The opposition leader, Raila Odinga has mocked the possibility of businesswoman Ann Njeri being the rightful owner of the controversial 17 billion shillings diesel oil that has been held at the port of Mombasa for more than a month.
Njeri has been at the center of a controversy involving oil worth billions and her disappearance before she was found safe several days ago.
While entering into the dispute, Raila dismissed her insistence that the oil cargo belonged to her.
In one clip that has been trending on social media, Odinga jokingly said that a rich person who is able to import a cargo of oil worth billions of money does not look like Ann Njeri who looks like an ordinary person from an average economy.
”We have all seen her, and we also know the cost of importing oil. The money that is required for you to do oil business, just by looking at her, you can say KSh 17 billion is not hers. Look at her face, She represents other people that we now want to know,” Raila said while laughing.
This is happening when Njeri’s mother also admits she never knew her daughter was rich enough to enable her import expensive oil from abroad for sale in Kenyan market.
Speaking to NTV, her mother said that for 5 years, she has not seen her daughter and they have only been communicating through video calls.
