Brown Mauzo opens up how Vera Sidika converted to Islam for the sake of their marriage.

Coast-born singer Fredrick Mutinda alias Brown Mauzo has revealed his ex-wife, Vera Sidika converted to Islam to win his heart.

In an interview with Nairobi News, Mauzo recognized the decision of the mother of his two children to change religion as a special act and a sign of love.

According to the singer, Vera Sidika took the decision to change her religion for their marriage to become a Muslim couple.

”One day, she called me explaining her intention to change her religion and become a Muslim, saying she wants us to be a Muslim couple. This was an important sacrifice she made for our relationship and I agreed,” Brown Mauzo said.

The musician revealed that after the 34-year-old socialite converted to Islam, she took the name ‘Zara.

“This action really touched my heart, and I discovered the truth behind her intentions in our relationship, although at first, I was skeptical, suspecting it could be fake… The advent of the religious element made me take our relationship seriously,” he said.

The coast-born musician who is currently separated from the mother of his two children revealed that their marriage ended in June this year but waited until August to announce it. The two were together for more than two years and even had two children together, a girl and a boy.

At the end of August, Brown Mauzo announced he and Vera had agreed to go their separate ways for the good of themselves and their children.

“Dear friends and followers, I want to take a moment to share some personal news. After much thought, Vera Sidika and I have decided to part ways. Our journey together has been full of unforgettable moments, but we have reached a point that is best for us and our children, Asia Brown and Ice Brown , moving forward differently,” Mauzo announced.

He thanked everyone who has been a part of their relationship which they had been proud of and showing it on social media.

“We want to thank you all for your unwavering love and support throughout our relationship. Your encouragement has meant the world to us. As we begin this new chapter, we ask for your understanding and respect for our privacy at this time,”
