The Kenya Meteorological Department has asked Kenyans to prepare for the rains that continue to fall in several parts of the country in the coming week from Tuesday.
The weather forecast from December 5 to December 12 shows that rain is expected to continue in the highlands in the east and west of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Southeast Highlands and the Coast.
North-East and North-West of Kenya may be dry.
Strong winds accompanied by heavy rains may be experienced in some areas of the Eastern Highlands and Western Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Valley and Southeast plains.
The Western Highlands of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria and the Rift Valley include Kisii, Nyamira, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Busia, Migori, Narok, Baringo, Nakuru , Trans. -Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet and West Pokot Counties.
North-western Kenya includes Turkana and Samburu counties while the Eastern Rift Valley Highlands include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi counties.
North-eastern Kenya includes Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo counties while the South-eastern plains include Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta counties.
