Peter Salasya announces to run for Governorship Kakamega in 2027 to ‘teach a lesson’ Governor Barasa.

Member of Parliament for Mumias East, Peter Salasya has announced his intention to run for governorship in Kakamega county in 2027 general election, Salasya said this in anger after his luxury car was destroyed with stones by a group of youths who he claims were sent by the current governor Ferdinand Barasa.

According to Salasya, Barasa was feeling intimidated by his (Salasya’s) rapidly growing popularity in Kakamega county.

”Huyu ndio mtu anaitwa huyo gavana, aliona sasa mimi nilimwambia ukweli huko, akajua nikikuja huko kwa sababu watu wamenipenda Kakamega, akaona aweke pale vijana kwa mlango eti Peter Salasya asiingie kwenye mazishi ya mheshimiwa ambaye ametuacha,ā€¯Salasya said in front of his car broken glass with stones.

The disagreement happened just a few moments after opposition leader Raila Odinga who was present at the funeral forced Barasa and Salasya to greet each other as a way to bury their differences.

The MP canceled the agreement, threatening to withdraw from Azimio if he is disappointed and forced to make peace with the governor.

He announced that in order to teach Barasa a lesson, he will run for governor in 2027 regardless of whether he wins or not.

”The head of the county saw my popularity growing so he decided to sponsor youth to destroy this car. The handshake that Raila made between him and me was not going to work. If anyone forces me to shake hands, I will withdraw from Azimio There will be no other handshake between the governor who is childish and me, and because of this I will run for governorship in 2027, if I pass it’s fine and if I fail it is also fine,” Salasya said.
