Following her graduation, the mother of five has planned to throw a big party on Saturday, December 9, at her home in Rongo, Migori county.
In an interview earlier this year, the singer revealed that her mother was the main reason she decided to go back to university and do her degree.
Speaking on TV47 early last month, Akothee said although she earned a lot of money, in life her mother never let her rest.
“Recently I completed my long education from Mount Kenya University and now I have a degree. My mother is a disciplined person and whenever I told her about my achievements, the houses I am building, my bank checks she kept them. She asked me about my degree,” she said.
The musician said she has been in university for the past 14 years and the inspiration came from her mother.
“I think I was born an intelligent lady and I believe I don’t need to read books to write anything on any paper. However, I felt like my mother was around my neck and it was better to get a degree so she could rest,” Akothee said at that time.
