As the year draws to a close, Google has released a list of some of the people and things that Kenyans searched for the most in their Google search engine.
According to the list in the people section, politician Millicent Omanga and former lover of actor Tyler Mbaya, Georgina Njenga have ranked in the list of the most searched people on Google in 2023.
Google released a list of 10 people but Kenyans are excited about the names of the two for the scandals that hit them at the beginning of this year.
The names included Mathe wa Ngara an alleged drug trafficker in Ngara, popular television evangelist Pastor Ezekiel, and government officials such as Matiang’i, Chebukati, Martha Koome and athletes such as Faith Kipyegon.
The names that most attracted social media users are Georgina Njenga, Millicent Omanga and Dj Fatxo.
Omanga was first on the list while Dj Fatxo grabbed the 3rd place followed closely by Njenga in the fourth place.
Millicent Omanga is a prominent Kenyan politician, and Fatxo is a famous Mugithi DJ while Njenga is a famous Instagram model who rose to fame after her relationship with the star dancer “Baha” from Machachari went public.
The three people had something in common as they became popular for the wrong reasons.
The politician found himself in the limelight after a sex video purported to be her, showing her in bed with a young man, was shared on telegram.
Omanga has never spoken about the issue but responded by posting a Bible verse a few days after the video was leaked earlier this year.
According to the data released on Monday, December 11, 2023, the former nominated senator topped the chart as Kenya’s most searched local personality after her search interest increased when users searched for her viral video.
Google showed that Omanga’s search progressed to an all-time high on April 16 and that the search queries were ‘Milicent Omanga Viral’, ‘Omanga viral video’, and Millicent Omanga viral video’.
Georgina’s case was similar to that of Omanga only that hers involved naked photos and videos that were meant to be a chat between her and her ex-boyfriend.
The videos were leaked online and she came out to blame her rejected ex-boyfriend who allegedly could not cope with her fame and new lover.
