Artist Bien Aime Baraza, who is the leader of a long-term and very successful band from the country, Sauti Sol, has revealed why he hates Githeri.
The food is a mixture of maize and beans boiled in simple language, many know it as ‘Githeri’
The artist recently sat in a conversation chair with a podcast and was able to be asked some personal questions including the foods he loves and those he hates.
In a clip of the video he uploaded on his Instastory and has been trending on social media, he was answering about the food he hates the most in his life.
Bien surprised many when he said he hates githeri so much that he banned the food from his kitchen.
“Githeri, a mixture of maize and beans. I hate that food so much, I can’t tolerate it in my house. At home I told my househelp, my mother knows and even my wife knows that no one is allowed to cook that kind of food in my kitchen,” Bien said.
The panel then asked if Bien had tried to add nutrients to his githeri syrup.
He associated his hatred with the food loved by many Kenyans with a low-income life, especially during the day at work and during his studies in a boarding school.
He also made it clear that he hates cabbage.
“I tried eating it with avocado, BlueBand and other things, but it didn’t work. I also don’t eat cabbage because of high school.” The singer said boldly.
