100 meter sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala has broken his silence after President Ruto awarded him with another MBS award.
Omanyala was among the many Kenyans who were commended for their good work in this year 2023 in various fields.
President Ruto in his Jamhuri Day speech to celebrate 60 years of Kenya’s independence, awarded Omanyala the honorary award of Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear, MBS among other athletes.
This is the second honorary award for Omanyala from the head of the country after being awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya, OGW in 2021 by retired president Uhuru Kenyatta.
”Was The Order of the Grand Warrior (O.G.W) now been added Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (M.B.S.) on my name. Thank you your excellency.” Omanyala wrote attaching a photo of himself greeting President Ruto.
The athlete suddenly appeared on the tongues of Kenyan athletics lovers in 2021 after excelling in the Olympic competition in Tokyo Japan where he set a good record for the 100 meter race from Africa but unfortunately he could not win the gold.
Omanyala is still the holder of the 100 meters race record from the African continent and is also the winner of the Commonwealth Games.
