New Study shows people with children live longer upto 76 years than those without.

Having a child or two can increase your life expectancy.

In today’s digital world, many young people believe it’s better to work hard and find wealth and a lot of money to live a comfortable life than to have children.

But a December 2023 study conducted by researchers at the University of Michigan in the United States has shown that a person who has children lives longer than one who does not.

According to the study, having children can increase a person’s life expectancy up to 76 years.

“One thing that is clear is having children is more beneficial for longevity than not having children at all,” study author Jianzhi Zhang said as the report was quoted by the New York Post.

As a result, he and co-author Erping Long, a student at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, reviewed the health and genetic information of 276,000 people living in the UK.

They determined that men and women with young children are more likely to live long enough to see their young children grow up.

“Having two children equates to longer life,” he added, in part, noting that people who become parents have a 5% to 10% longevity advantage over people without children.

“Having fewer or more children shortens life expectancy,” Zhang said.

He mentioned in part the potential for longevity and the built-in benefits that come with increasing variety.

”Previous studies have found that people with children tend to have more social interactions, such as interactions with other parents and teachers, and higher social interactions are known to be associated with longer life,” Zhang explained.

“It’s possible that having two children strikes a balance between having a good amount of social interaction and not being too financially or physically burdened.”
