Veronica Muthiani from Machakos Club claimed the top golfer title as the ‘Winner of Winners’ in the grand finale of the ICEALION King of the Course golf tournament at Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County on October 28, 2023. Despite the challenging Coastal heat, Muthiani, with a handicap of 19, scored a total of 32 points in both nines to secure her victory.
Expressing her astonishment and gratitude for the support from her four-ball partners, Muthiani said, “It was a good day with the course playing well. Thank you all, and I hope to defend the title next year.”
The event featured series winners from Machakos, Thika Greens, Ruiru, Eldoret, Nandi, Nanyuki, and attracted 237 golfers, including participants from the Nyali series supported by ICEALion group. As a reward for her victory, Muthiani will receive a fully paid King of the Course golf tour for two in March 2024, including representation in the Regional Triangular Lekoa Classic tournament in Johannesburg at Vall River Golf Estate.
