Pastor Ezekiel Odero, the founder of New Life Church Prayer Center, made a generous donation of Ksh14.6 million (USD100,000) during a fundraiser led by Pastor Benny Hinn at Nyayo Stadium on Monday.
Hinn, who conducted a groundbreaking crusade from Saturday to Sunday, initiated the fundraising drive to cover expenses that fell short of USD100,000.
Addressing the congregation, Hinn emphasized the importance of supporting the organizers financially and invited contributions from well-wishers.
A pastor from China was the first to donate Ksh2 million (USD14,000) towards the cause.
During the service, Pastor Ezekiel Odero’s representative conveyed his decision to donate Ksh14.6 million to Pastor Benny Hinn.
In response, Hinn expressed gratitude towards Pastor Ezekiel, acknowledging the burden of the organizers and his desire to alleviate it.
Among the attendees at the crusade were President William Ruto, his wife Rachel, and their daughter Charlene, all of whom received prayers.
Charlene’s experience of falling to the ground during prayer was attributed to being touched by the Spirit of the Lord, with Hinn following a directive from God to circle her seven times during prayer.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was also present at the event.
In a separate incident, a video showing Hinn pushing Pastor Ezekiel during prayers sparked mixed reactions. Pastor Ezekiel clarified that he attended the crusade to seek Hinn’s anointing.
However, Pastor James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Centre criticized the organizers for not recognizing him at the rally, expressing dissatisfaction with the preference given to foreign pastors over local ones.
