Two women suspected of drugging a male reveler at a Thika club were apprehended by detectives on Saturday. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reported that the club supervisor raised an alarm after observing suspicious activity between the suspects and the victim.
Concerned about the situation, the supervisor witnessed the suspects forcibly dragging the intoxicated customer to his vehicle and placing him in the driver’s seat. The DCI highlighted this as a resurgence of ‘Pishori babes’ engaging in nocturnal activities in Kiambu’s Thika town.
In an attempt to prevent the man from drunk driving, the supervisor intervened but was astonished to catch one of the women spraying an unknown substance on her breasts before attempting to ‘breastfeed’ the victim. The women fled the scene after stealing the victim’s ATM cards and personal documents.
Upon notification of the incident, Thika station police rushed to the scene to find the unconscious man in his car, with a bottle of alcohol containing a white precipitate at its base. Additional tablets of an unidentified drug were discovered on the women.
The apprehended suspects were booked into police custody, and the victim was taken to a nearby health facility. Detectives seized the exhibits for analysis at a government chemist. The DCI, in response to the incident, cautioned revelers, especially men, to stay vigilant against seductive criminals targeting vulnerable, cash-rich customers.
“In some unfortunate incidences, victims of stupefying have lost their lives after being heavily drugged, hence the need to exercise caution and always party around known friends who would have your back in case of such danger,” added the DCI.”
