A Nigerian pastor, identified by DCI as Reverend Ugochukwu Emmanuel Ekwem, was arrested with drugs at Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, while on his way to a three-week crusade in Nairobi.
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency arrested the youthful and popular preacher on Monday 7th March as passengers were being cleared to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Nairobi via Addis Ababa.
He had wrapped 54 sticks of marijuana around his body.
The preacher told the DCI that he was planning to use the marijuana during his three weeks crusade in Kenya.
He was taken to custody and his trip to Nairobi was canceled.
