Robert Wakolo Okoth, alias George Oduor Okoth, was a prime suspect in the murder of Wells Fargo HR manager Willis Ayieko.
Police linked Okoth to multiple violent robberies, including the fatal shooting of an Mpesa agent in Kisumu, before he was killed in a recent police operation.
His alleged accomplice, Victor Okoth Ouma, is currently in custody following his arrest in Dandora, Nairobi.
Robert Wakolo Okoth, a notorious criminal figure, was recently killed by police following his involvement in a series of violent crimes, including the murder of Wells Fargo HR manager Willis Ayieko and the shooting of Kisumu-based Mpesa agent Grace Awino Odera earlier this year. Police identified Okoth, who used several aliases, through his father and noted his history of eluding law enforcement.
Okoth’s criminal activities date back to January 27, when he allegedly killed Odera in a robbery. Police later linked him to this incident after finding an AK-47 rifle stolen from a Ugandan police officer. Further evidence, including ammunition and additional firearms, was uncovered during a May 2024 raid on Okoth’s Nyamasaria home, although he managed to escape at that time.
Police also arrested Okoth’s alleged accomplice and brother, Victor Okoth Ouma, who was apprehended in Nairobi’s Dandora estate. Ouma, placed at the scene of Ayieko’s murder through forensic analysis, allegedly withdrew money from Ayieko’s mobile phone account, further implicating him in the crime. Authorities have been granted 21 days to detain Ouma as the investigation continues.
